OUR KEY SECTORS

We specialise in serving as a ‘catalyst for change’, providing the drive to make things happen and accomplish a project or task that contributes to improving in the economic, environmental and social health of urban and rural areas and enables people, businesses and local communities to thrive and grow.

We focus on managing change and delivering continuous improvement in a number of key sectors:

  • Economic Development

  • Community Development

  • Economic, Physical and Community Regeneration

  • Innovation and the Transition to a Low Carbon Future

We bring to assignments 30 years’ practical ‘real-world’ experience of driving forward and delivering solutions in all these sectors. This is summarised below, together with a link to more detailed information on each sector.

Economic Development

We bring to assignments 30 years’ practical ‘real-world’ experience of driving forward and delivering economic development solutions that have addressed local challenges and opportunities, supported the development of strong, responsive and competitive local economies and enabled people, places, businesses and local communities to thrive and grow.

This includes experience within the public sector of directly leading departments and managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering economic development programmes of action on the ground for district, county and unitary local authorities, economic development companies, local enterprise partnerships and strategic sub-regional partnerships.

In addition, providing strategic consultancy support to the public sector to stimulate, enable and drive forward cooperative cross-border, cross-sector economic development solutions.

Community Development

We bring many years’ experience supporting local communities and delivering community development solutions that have addressed local challenges and opportunities and supported the development of stronger, more vibrant and healthier communities. This includes delivering community development programmes for local authorities and working directly with community organisations and groups to support deprived rural mining communities, outer urban housing estates, town centre communities and latterly, community groups with specific issues relating to health and social well-being.

An emerging area of work for us is supporting community groups deliver projects within the health and social care sectors. There is significant unmet demand from individual parents and community groups who are looking for guidance and support to help them find solutions to things that matter to them in relation to the provision of health and social care services.

Economic, Physical and
Community Regeneration

We offer practical, results-driven consultancy support to help develop a more proactive and integrated approach to the regeneration of places and communities.

We bring to assignments over 20 years’ experience of driving forward and delivering the economic, physical and social regeneration of places and communities.

This includes direct experience working within the public sector leading regeneration departments and managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex multi-million pound economic, community and environmental regeneration programmes for district, county and unitary local authorities, economic development companies, local enterprise partnerships and strategic sub-regional partnerships. In addition, providing strategic regeneration consultancy support to the public sector to stimulate, enable and drive forward cooperative cross-border, cross-sector regeneration solutions.

Innovation and the Transition
to a Low Carbon Future

We provide strategic guidance and policy direction to the public sector in relation to exploiting emerging opportunities associated with renewable energy, promoting healthy urban living and supporting the transition to a low carbon economy: ensuring the economic and social benefits are realised locally.

A growing area of work over the last five years has been our involvement with innovation-led small and medium sized businesses, universities and research institutions to harness Space, ICT and Low Carbon technologies for the development of innovative new technology-enabled tools and services for use by the public sector to help mitigate the impact of air pollution exposure on public health, promote sustainable and active transport as well as the transition to a low carbon economy.

In these areas, we have supported technology-led small and medium sized businesses and facilitated partnerships with the public sector to demonstrate proof-of-concept and undertake pre—operational trials of innovative new technology-enabled tools and services to raise awareness and encourage uptake by the public sector in order to enhance public policy making and enable smarter, more efficient delivery of public services.
